As part of the newly adopted “Youth Recreation Strategy 2026-2030,” this election allows residents aged 11 to 18 to elect their own representatives to the Parish Youth Council.
This body will have a dedicated budget and a formal seat at the “Recreation & Open Spaces” committee to advise on facilities for young people. This election aims to foster early civic engagement and ensure that the younger generation has a meaningful voice in local government.
Candidates will campaign on issues such as skate park maintenance, digital hub services, and environmentally friendly transport.
While this is not a statutory election in the traditional sense, the council will follow formal polling procedures to provide a realistic democratic experience for the participants, including the use of digital ballot papers via the Member Portal.
