This strategic forward plan establishes the foundational roadmap for the comprehensive ecological restoration of the central Village Green starting in early 2024.
Over the planned two-year lifecycle, the project will implement advanced sub-surface drainage systems to combat increasing seasonal waterlogging. Horticultural teams will focus on introducing native perennial planting beds that require minimal watering and naturally boost local pollinator populations.
The plan also details the layout for newly designated pedestrian pathways composed entirely of recycled composite materials. Public consultation webinars are scheduled throughout the autumn to capture resident feedback on the proposed layout alterations.
By addressing these infrastructure needs proactively, the council aims to preserve this vital community asset for recreational use while simultaneously strengthening our local flood resilience defenses.
