The Lead Member for Recreation & Open Spaces has officially approved an individual executive allocation of £1,200 to fund urgent accessibility modifications at the village cemetery. This targeted grant will support the immediate installation of a reinforced, non-slip pathway connecting the main gates to the newer memorial gardens.
The decision was fast-tracked outside the standard committee timeline to ensure that construction could be completed ahead of the upcoming high-attendance anniversary events. Funding will be drawn directly from the portfolio holder’s discretionary community improvement budget for the current municipal year.
Local contractors have been engaged to carry out the path laying using permeable and sustainable building materials. This notice satisfies the council’s strict transparency obligations regarding single-member spending authorizations. The completed infrastructure will be audited by the parish access officer within thirty days of completion to ensure full compliance with accessibility regulations.
