This strategic forward plan details the upcoming development of interconnected cycle paths and improved pedestrian corridors linking residential wards to the village railway station. Managed under the Transport & Highways portfolio, the initiative seeks to promote healthier lifestyles and reduce vehicular congestion during peak commuting hours.
The proposed routes will introduce dedicated cycling lanes, secure bike storage lockers, and enhanced crossing signals at major intersections. Highways engineers are currently conducting traffic volume assessments to ensure the upgrades do not adversely affect localized bus schedules.
Funding for this multi-year infrastructure project will be drawn from accumulated developer contributions and regional transport grants. A series of community workshops will be hosted at the Parish Hall to allow residents to review the proposed route options. Upon successful completion, this scheme will form a vital component of the district’s broader sustainable transit grid.
