Cabinet Forward Plan Update — March 2026
Document Details
The Executive Notice ADC/EN/2026/08, published on 1 March 2026, is a statutory instrument issued by the Democratic Services Manager on behalf of the Chief Executive of Ambridge District Council. Its primary purpose is to fulfil the Council’s legal obligation under the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012, which requires local authorities to give a minimum of 28 clear days’ public notice before a key decision is made by the Executive.
This notice supplements the published Forward Plan dated 1 February 2026 and supersedes Executive Notice ADC/EN/2026/06. It identifies three forthcoming key decisions anticipated between April and June 2026, each of which meets the Council’s threshold definition of a key decision — that is, a decision likely to result in significant expenditure or one with significant effects across two or more electoral divisions of the district.
The three decisions notified are: the approval of the 2026/27 Capital Programme (anticipated Full Council, April 2026, involving £6.2 million of capital investment); the determination of the major planning application for the Ambridge North Urban Extension (anticipated Planning Committee, May 2026, covering 480 dwellings and 4 hectares of employment land); and the adoption of the Ambridge District Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026–2035 (anticipated Cabinet, June 2026).
For each decision, the notice sets out the identity of the decision maker, the anticipated decision date, the relevant Portfolio Holder, a plain-language summary of the decision to be made, and the date from which supporting documents will be publicly available. The notice also explains the rights of Members and members of the public to submit representations and to inspect the relevant documents, either online or at the Civic Centre. The Executive Notice ADC/EN/2026/08, published on 1 March 2026, is a statutory instrument issued by the Democratic Services Manager on behalf of the Chief Executive of Ambridge District Council.
